Peer Review Process

The Academic Research Journal of Science and Technology (ARJST) employs a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality and validity of published research. The process is outlined below:

  1. Manuscript Submission: Upon submission, the journal (or publisher) receives the manuscript.
  2. Plagiarism Screening: All submitted manuscripts undergo plagiarism screening using Turnitin. Manuscripts exceeding a similarity index of 20% will not proceed further.
  3. Initial Editorial Assessment: A designated editor evaluates the manuscript for completeness and alignment with the journal’s scope. To avoid conflicts of interest, an editor who is an author or has other connections to the manuscript will be excluded from handling it.
  4. Reviewer Selection: The handling editor identifies at least two qualified reviewers to assess the manuscript’s scientific merit. Reviewers are given four weeks to complete their assessment.
  5. Reviewer Feedback: Reviewers provide written feedback and a recommendation for publication (accept, reject, or revise).
  6. Editorial Decision: The handling editor considers the review reports but is not strictly bound by their recommendations when making a final decision on the manuscript’s acceptance, rejection, or need for revision.
  7. Exception for Single Substantial Review: In cases where the Chief Editor and Managing Editor concur that a single review provides sufficient depth and justification, the Chief Editor may make the final decision.
  8. Author Notification: The corresponding author receives the review reports and the editorial decision.
  9. Revision or Withdrawal: Authors decide whether to revise and resubmit their manuscript or withdraw it from consideration.
  10. Publication: If accepted, the manuscript proceeds to the production stage for publication.
