Article Processing Charges in Open Access Publishing

Open access publishing represents a modern approach to scholarly journal dissemination, offering immediate and unrestricted access to the full text of published articles. This model allows anyone interested to read, download, print, and share articles without a subscription, significantly broadening the reach of an author's research compared to traditional subscription-based publishing. Many researchers across diverse fields are increasingly recognizing the advantages of open access publishing, particularly in enhancing the visibility and impact of their work.

When an article is accepted for publication, it incurs an Article Processing Charge (APC).

Unlike traditional publishers, open access publishers—such as the Academic Research Journal of Science and Technology (ARJST)—do not rely on subscription sales for revenue. Instead, we ensure that all published articles are freely accessible. Thus, similar to other open access publishers, ARJST charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) after an article has been accepted.

It is important to note that there are no submission fees associated with the Academic Research Journal of Science and Technology. Authors are only responsible for the APC if their article is accepted, and there are no hidden costs involved in the publishing process.

For authors who are unable to pay the APC, we offer assistance by providing waivers. Authors hailing from countries on the World Bank's list of low-income and lower-middle-income nations are eligible for these fee waivers.

There are no charges for articles that are rejected, nor are there any additional fees based on figures or supplementary data provided in the articles.

The APCs for accepted articles are as follows:

  • Foreign Authors: $100
  • Indian Authors: Rs. 500/-
